Photographer Portfolio

Overview

In collaboration with UI Designer Daniel Zenker, we re-designed and iteratively developed a new portfolio for Michael. The goal was to provide a print-like but modern digital user experience, while massively improving performance of the application for his heavy image assets. A combination of Custom Written WordPress plugins, Child Theme, REDIS caching, NGINX optimizations and Database optimizations led to an astonishing improvement of the performance of the website, which is now able to handle the heavy image assets with ease, providing a smooth and engaging experience for visitors and content managers (via the CMS). The new design features bold typography, a monochrome palette, and immersive full-bleed imagery. GSAP-powered page transitions and scroll-triggered animations create a dynamic browsing experience that highlights the artistry of Michael's work.
